Bye 2018! Hello 2019!

And just like that, another year is coming to a close! Does anyone else feel like 2018 moved at 100 mph?! But as I sit here and reflect, I accomplished so much in what feels like a short amount of time.

Last year, my goal for 2018 was to focus on my relationship with God and not so much on the things I wanted to accomplish ( I’m so glad I did because my stress level declined so much. And everything seemed to just fall into place.

I got into a routine of giving God praise everyday, no matter if I felt the day was good or bad. The biggest theme of my prayers was for God to guide my steps. If you’ve been following me then you know my biggest desire is a career change. Although I’m still currently in the same field, the Lord blessed me with so many opportunities to make me a competitive candidate in my new field.

Here’s a short recap of my blessings

  • Cancer control research training at UCLA
  • Abstract acceptance for the 2018 CDC STD Conference
  • Abstract presentation at the 2018 CDC STD Conference
  • Networking

Now I did have some disappointments this year but I’ve learned to not let the bad outshine the good. So overall 2018 treated me more than well.

New Year, New Me

New Year, Better Me 😉

I hate that quote (new year, new me) because it doesn’t allow you to really think about what you want to improve. You shouldn’t want to be a new you because being you is what makes you unique. You should want to be a better you! So I think it’s important to set realistic, life propelling goals for the new year. So here are my major goals for 2019:

  •  Continue to let God guide me
  • New career (that I love)
  • Newer car
  • At least one international trip
