Twist Out With Perm Rods

Happy New Year Everyone! I’m back! I’ll make another post about how 2017 ended and 2018 began (probably should have done that first). Anyways. . . .

I wanted to try something new with my hair so I went to my favorite site, Youtube. I saw a bunch of naturals have tried perm rods with their twist outs and they look bomb. BOMB! Usually I like my hair to be either flat twisted into a style or very tight. I’m not a fan of big hair, but the fullness achieved with this method was irresistible.

First of all, it’s a lot harder than it looks. My first few attempts were a complete struggle. I tried to roll my hair without twisting it first and I couldn’t get my hair to lay down like I wanted it to. So I sectioned my hair into 4 parts, two-strand twisted, then rolled it. I also tried two new products with this style. I used Alikay Naturals’ Shea Yogurt and Sheamoisture’s Coconut & Hibiscus Frizz-Free Mousse. Highly recommended products!

I sat under the dryer for about 40 minutes then air-dried overnight. Take your time and use an oil to unravel the twists. Fluff, separate, and style to your liking. It didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted, but practice makes perfect!
