I’m not sure if this is scientifically proven or just in my mind, but after a while of using the same product, it doesn’t have the same effect on my hair. I noticed about a month ago that my hair wasn’t as manageable or moisturized as it was when I first used Shea Moisture’s JBCO line. I had the complete line: shampoo, conditioner, hair masque, leave-in conditioner, and styling lotion. Those products were good to me for about 2 years, so imagine the mini breakdown I had. However, the wonderful thing about Shea Moisture is that they have a great variety of products at affordable prices. It didn’t take me long to decide which line I would try next.
I visited my local Ulta and found the Peace Rose Oil Complex (picture below) line for dry, brittle hair. The “mood elevating aroma” caught my attention, so I purchased the shampoo, conditioner, and hair masque. I was really surprised by the scent. It was very relaxing. Honestly, the scent alone won me over (it smells that good). More importantly, the results from the products were true to their descriptions.
–> I finally took my twists down today (2/26). My hair is super defined and soft. I don’t really care for my twist outs the first 2 days, because my hair hasn’t stretched enough but I wanted to show you guys the end result.
***I still use the JBCO leave-in and the coconut & hibiscus curl enhancing smoothie for my twist-outs.
- The scent is very soothing and pleasant
- My hair actually felt soft (after shampooing)
- The masque revitalized my curls (bouncy and shiny)
- The hair masque only comes in 2 fl oz packets
- Doesn’t have a leave-in conditioner
***I didn’t use the conditioner this time, but I’m sure it will meet my expectations.
