AncestryDNA Results

Waiting for these results was probably the longest 6 weeks of my life. I’ve always been curious about my roots and decided this would be the perfect Christmas gift to myself. I’m finding it difficult to put my feelings into words. Overjoyed, proud, humbled, excited. I can’t seem to find the perfect word. And I feel this yearning to learn as much as I can. I attribute much of that to a precolonial Africana studies course that I took in undergrad. It really opened my eyes to the beauty and strength of Africa and her people. I am ecstatic to know exactly where I fit in. Below is a summary of my profile. If anyone is curious to see a more detailed profile just let me know.
–> According to my profile, 89% of my DNA is of African descent ✊🏾. Of that 89%, I have DNA markers mostly from Nigeria! I’m not sure where to begin. I want to learn everything I can about the people, culture, traditions, everything about Nigeria. If anyone has any suggestions please, please share. If you can, I highly recommend that you invest in a test!

As always,
